Architect from the University of Guadalajara (Mexico). He achieved a Master’s Degree in the Information and Knowledge Society at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Spain) and obtained the Diploma de Estudios Avanzados (Advanced Studies Diploma) in the Doctoral Program of the same name, under the supervision of Dr. Manuel Castells Oliván. He has completed diplomas and courses in Film, Philosophy, Sociology, Art History, and Psychology. He also studied piano at the Escuela Superior de Música de Guadalajara (Professor Áurea Corona).
He is a Full-time Professor and Researcher at the University of Guadalajara (Division of Arts and Humanities, Center for Art, Architecture and Design). He collaborates with The University of Guadalajara Foundation in coordinating Art Diploma Programs of Mexico in the United States (Los Angeles, Chicago).
He served as Secretary of the Division of Arts and Humanities (CUAAD/UdeG) from 2004 to 2007 and again from 2010 to 2019.
As a lecturer, he has taught courses such as Semiotics of Art and Architecture, Aesthetics, Authorial Criticism, Expression and Communication in Art, and Art History.
He is also an architect dedicated to the design and construction of private residences in the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara.
Founder and current representative of the Academic Research Group CA-UDG-923 "Contemporary Studies on Art".
His main interest as a researcher and educator focuses on multi- and interdisciplinary fields, as well as on the dialogue between research and creation.
